Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms apply to every order placed on microdoc.co.uk. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. About us

This website is run by Micro Doc (Dave Harris), 43 Meriden Avenue, Wollaston, Stourbridge, DY8 4QP. You can contact us by email at admin@microdoc.co.uk or by phone on 01384 913070, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

2. Our products

We sell new, used, refurbished and reproduction parts, enhancements, software and systems for retro computers. Many items are decades old or are new-old-stock. We describe the condition of each item as accurately as we can, and photos show the actual item or a typical example. Small cosmetic marks consistent with age are normal on vintage items and are not a fault unless the description says otherwise.

Some items are components or upgrades intended to be fitted by someone with suitable skills. Please make sure an item is compatible with your machine before ordering, and ask us if you are unsure. We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect fitting, modification or use.

3. Ordering

When you place an order you will receive an email acknowledging it. This does not mean we have accepted your order. The contract between us is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been dispatched. If we cannot accept your order (for example, because an item is out of stock or a price was clearly wrong) we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (£). The price you pay is the price shown when you place your order, plus the delivery charge shown at checkout. If we discover a price error before dispatch we will contact you so you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel.

Payment is taken at the time of order through PayPal, which accepts PayPal accounts, debit and credit cards, and Apple Pay. We never see or store your full card details.

5. Delivery

We will dispatch your order as soon as we can and give you an estimated delivery time at checkout or in your dispatch email. Unless we agree otherwise, we will deliver within 30 days of accepting your order. If we cannot, you may cancel and receive a full refund.

The goods are your responsibility once delivered to the address you gave us. Please check your parcel on arrival and tell us within 7 days if anything is missing or damaged in transit, so we can claim from the carrier and put it right. This does not limit your legal rights.

6. Changing your mind (14-day cancellation right)

If you are a consumer you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods. To cancel, email us at admin@microdoc.co.uk with your name, order number and the items you are returning. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back to us.

  • Unless the item is faulty or not as described, you pay the cost of returning it. We recommend a tracked service, as the goods remain your responsibility until they reach us.
  • We will refund the price of the goods and our standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving them back (or of you providing proof of return, if sooner), using the original payment method.
  • Please return items in the condition you received them, including any anti-static packaging. We may reduce the refund if an item has been handled more than needed to inspect it, for example if a component has been soldered, fitted, programmed or modified.
  • The cancellation right does not apply to sealed software or media once you have opened the seal, or to items made or programmed to your specification.

7. Faulty items

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, taking account of their age, condition and price. If an item is faulty:

  • within 30 days of delivery you can reject it for a full refund;
  • after 30 days you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, a price reduction or refund.

Please contact us before sending anything back so we can help and, where possible, arrange the return. We will refund reasonable return postage for faulty items. A fault does not include damage caused by incorrect fitting, static discharge, modification, misuse or normal wear.

8. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and we do not supply goods for business use, so we are not liable for loss of profit, business or data. Retro hardware can be fragile; please back up any data on equipment before fitting parts.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

9. Your personal information

We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Complaints and law

If you have a problem, please contact us first and we will do our best to sort it out quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on this page when you placed it.
